
Cobras Ready to Take on Queens on Senior Day
Coker will honor two seniors before Saturday's match.

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker women's soccer will face Queens (N.C.) on Senior Day on Saturday (Oct. 22). Coker will honor two seniors in Emma Ferguson and Jessi Campos.
Ferguson has played in 48 games in her Coker career, making 42 starts. She anchored a defense that put up six shutouts over the course of her career; she also fired two shots on goal. The Statesville, N.C. native is the daughter of Valerie and Tony Ferguson and is pursuing a degree in exercise science.
Campos has played in 39 games for Coker, starting in 33 of them. As part of the defense along with Ferguson, Campos was an instrumental part of the Cobras defense in her two seasons. Campos has one career goal and one career assist for a total of three career points. The Cancun, Mexico native is the daughter of Patti Campos and is pursuing a degree in physical education.
The Cobras last played on Wednesday (Oct. 19) when they fell to Lenoir-Rhyne 5-0. The Cobras registered three shots while Shelby Middleton made 10 saves in the contest.
On the season, Phoebie Eshen leads the Navy and Gold with three goals. Sophomore Shelby Middleton has been stellar between the pipes, as she now leads the conference in saves with 72. She is also 9th individually in the conference in minutes (754:36) and 12th individually in goals against average (2.15).
Queens comes into the match with an 8-5 overall record and a 6-3 mark in the South Atlantic Conference. Thea Mallet leads the team offensively with six goals and two assists for a total of 14 points. In goal, the Royals lean on Rachel Quest, who has made 62 saves and owns a 1.08 goals against average.
The match is slated for a 4:30 p.m. start at the Coker College athletic field. Tickets for the match are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
