HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker women's soccer team dropped its home contest to Newberry 4-2 on Wednesday (Sept. 23).

Newberry took a 2-0 lead to the half, but Coker would counter with back-to-back tallies early in the second. Renee Ledesma netted her second of the year unassisted to get Coker on the board in the 54th minute. The Cobras would strike again in the 63rd minute when a Jordan Roy cross evaded feet all the way through to Anna Vig who would stash it home for her first of the year.

Newberry goals in the 81st and 87th minutes would ultimately decide the contest. Shelby Middleton made nine saves in the contest.

The Cobras will wrap up their three-game homestand on Saturday (Sept. 26) when they welcome Catawba. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m.
