HARROGATE, TENN. – The Coker women's soccer team knocked off the Lincoln Memorial Railsplitters in South Atlantic Conference action on Saturday (Sept. 13). The win improves the Cobras to 1-0 in conference play and extends their winning streak to two games.
The first half of action would produce no major scoring chances as the teams headed into intermission in a scoreless tie. Trah Monroe would break the tie and give Coker the lead in the 62nd minute of play off a Jordan Roy assist. The Cobra defense would clamp down the rest of the way and preserve the 1-0 victory.
Leading the Navy and Yellow offensively was Monroe with one goal and Roy with one assist, while Lizz Morris led the defense with eight saves in 90 minutes of play.
The Cobras will hit the road again on Tuesday (Sept. 16) for a non-conference matchup against Converse College. The match is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start.
