Snyder Leads Cobras to 4-1 Victory Over Hurricanes

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker women's soccer team grounded the Georgia Southwestern State University Hurricanes for its first win of the 2014 season on Wednesday (Sept. 10) night.

The Navy and Yellow wasted no time getting on the board, with Autumn Fetterolf finding the back of the net off a Salina Maynard assist just 22 seconds into the match. Coker would take a comfortable 3-0 lead into the break after Laura Bexell and Jordan Roy tagged on goals in the 22nd and 38th minutes, respectively.

The Cobras would continue pressing on offense in the second half, taking 20 of their match-high 34 shots in the period. Erica Snyder would tag on an insurance goal in the 84th minute, while the Hurricanes would sneak in a 90th minute goal to set the final score at 4-1.

Leading the Navy and Yellow offensively was Snyder with one goal and one assist, while Bexell and Roy each tallied one score apiece. Maynard and Renee Ledesma each dished out helpers of their own. Defensively, Lizz Morris led the way with four saves in 90 minutes of play.
