Mars Hill Tops Coker in 2OT Win

MARS HILL, N.C. – The Coker women's soccer team lost a 3-2 double overtime SAC competition to Mars Hill on Saturday (Oct. 12).

The game started with Millie Rogers firing a shot into the net off a pass from Trah Monroe to give the Cobras a 1-0 advantage just 15 minutes into the game.  Rogers' goal would be the lone score of the first half to give Coker the lead at halftime.

Coker would strike again early in the second half when Jenna Pacyna led Monroe into a breakaway with a pass, who would then find nylon to give Coker a 2-0 lead.

The lead was short lived however, as the Lions went on to score two goals in the last 30 minutes of the game to force overtime.  Mars Hill would eventually go on to find the game winning goal in the second overtime to capture the 3-2 comeback win.

Coker will return home this Wednesday (Oct. 16) to host Mount Olive in a nonconference match up at the Coker Soccer Field.  Game time is set for 6:00 p.m.
