Roy Fuels Cobras Past Valkyries

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Freshman midfielder Jordan Roy led the Cobras to a 2-0 win over Converse College on Tuesday (Oct. 1) night at the Coker Soccer Field, after she scored both of the Cobras' goals.

It was a quick start for Roy and the Cobras, as the first goal came just 39 seconds into the game.  Roy received a pass off the foot of sophomore forward Jalynn Fortt, and put it into the back right corner of the net for the games first goal.

Roy struck again in the 11th minute of the first half, except this time she received a pass from junior defender Trah Monroe.  Roy's second goal of the day allowed the Cobras to head into the locker room with a comfortable 2-0 lead at the break.

Competition became much thicker in the second half, as neither team would surrender a goal.  Roy's two goals in the first half however would prove to be enough to preserve the Coker victory.

Coker's next competition will come this Saturday (Oct. 5) against Catawba in a South Atlantic Conference match up.  Game time is slated for a 1:30 PM start time.
