Cooper Weathers The Storm; Leads Cobras to 1-0 Win in OT

AMERICUS, GA. – In the 91st minute of overtime, sophomore midfielder Katie Cooper scored the game-winning goal to pull the Cobras past the Hurricanes of Georgia Southwestern in a non-conference matchup on Thursday (Sept. 19).

It was a close contest from start to finish as neither team could take command in the first 90 minutes of regulation.  Coker ripped off 28 shots in regulation, while the 'Canes fired off 12 off their own, but neither offense could find nylon.

Lizz Morris landed her first shut out of the season and headed the defense with six saves on the day.

Jordan Roy, Millie Rogers, and Jessi Campos kept the Hurricane defense on their heels by each putting four shots on goal.

Coker will be looking to add to their success this Saturday (Sept. 21) as the travel to face Anderson in a South Atantic Conference competition.  Game time is set for 1:00 PM.
