Fortt, Van Order, Pilot Cobras Past Flying Fleet

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Forwards Jalynn Fortt and Bailey Van Order both scored early goals to lead the Cobras to a 2-0 victory in a Conference Carolinas match against Erskine College on Saturday (Oct. 13).  The Cobras continue their home hot-streak by winning 4-of-5 at home since September 6.

The whistle had barely sounded before Fortt had dribbled down the field to put the first point on the scoreboard for Coker.  The Cobras had set the tone quickly, just 30-seconds into the match.

Freshman Bailey Van Order followed suit, when she launched a shot from outside the box to beat the Erksine goalkeeper to the bottom right corner.  Not even 15-minutes into the game, Coker had taken a commanding 2-0 lead.

The second half proved to be physical, with both teams racking up a total of 19 fouls including a yellow-card.  Erksine fired off 5 shots on the Cobra cage, but could not slip one past the Coker goalkeeper Lizz Morris.  Morris is currently second in the nation, with a total of 124 saves.

Coker will be hoping to keep their home streak alive, when they host North Greenville on Wednesday, October 17.  The game is slatted to begin at 4:30 p.m.
