Cobra Women's Soccer Announces Additions to 2012 Team

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Two more student-athletes have agreed to join the Coker College women's soccer program for the 2012 season. According to head coach Dan Muns, midfielder Morgan Meckley and defender Ashley Wright will be joining the Cobras next season.

Meckley, a native of Mount Joy, Pa., comes to Coker from Donegal High School where she was a three-sport athlete for the Indians playing field hockey, softball, and soccer. A member of several championship teams at Donegal, she helped led the field hockey team to the L-L League Championship and a conference championship. She also led the softball team to a PIAA State Championship, a District Championship and the L-L League Championship. She was an eight-time letter winner for the Indians.

She played club ball for OD Clan and ETC Elite. She was instrumental in OD Clan's Keystone Indoor Championship.

"Morgan is a versatile player and has a terrific competitive mentality," said Muns.

Wright joins the Cobras from Darton College and is a native of Columbus, Ga. A graduate of Hardaway High School, Muns says,  "She is a strong central defender that could also be very productive in the midfield for us."

Wright played for the Concorde Fire Club Team, playing a significant role in Concorde's run in the Georgia State semi-finals in 2009. She was also a member of the 1992 Georgia State ODP pool in 2007.

With the addition of these two players, Muns now has seven newcomers joining the Cobras next season.
