Lees-McRae Shuts out Coker

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker women's soccer team suffered a tough loss to Lees-McRae College on Saturday night as they held their first ever breast cancer awareness, "Kick for Ta-Tas". The Cobras lost the match 9-0 to the conference leading Bobcats.

Lees-McRae turned on the offensive pressure early with five goals in the opening half of play. The Bobcats added four more goals in the second half to take home the 9-0 win.

Cassie Callahan (Fayetteville, N.C.) had two of the Cobras three shots. Haley Gibson (Chesterfield, S.C.) and Lizz Morris (Stillwater, N.Y.) combined for eight saves in the match with Gibson making five and Morris making three in her first time on the field since a knee injury on Sept. 11.

The Cobras will be back in action at home on Tuesday against Belmont Abbey College. Kick-off is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
