ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Coker sophomore Rachel Solomon (Bluffton, S.C.) scored the Cobra women's lone goal of the game in their 4-1 loss to Eckerd College on Friday night.
Senior Kerrie Cribb (Sumter, S.C.) got the assist on the goal and Haley Gibson (Chesterfield, S.C.) had eight saves in just her second collegiate start between the posts.
It was an evenly played match through the first 45 minutes with both teams netting a goal and Eckerd holding just a slight shot advantage 10-5. But the Tritons turned up the offensive pressure in the second half, scoring three goals on 16 shots.
The Cobras will continue their Florida road trip with a match on Sunday in St. Augustine, Fla. versus Nova Southeastern at 2 p.m.
