Cobra Women Fall to Mars Hill, 2-0

MARS HILL, N.C. – The Coker women's soccer team dropped a close match to the Mars Hill College Lions, 2-0. The Cobras held the Lions scoreless for nearly 70 minutes before giving up two late goals. MHC improved to 4-0-1 while the Cobras fell to 0-4 on the season.
The Lions first goal came when Catherine Watkins-Banks hit a shot from 20 yards out to give MHC a 1-0 lead, Salem Woody assisted the goal.
Miranda Reasoner added an insurance goal at the 87:41 mark from 30 yards out. The goal was unassisted.
Lizz Morris (Stillwater, N.Y.) played the first 70:19 in goal for Coker and made five saves. Haley Gibson (Chesterfield, S.C.) played the final 19:41 in the net for the Cobras and made a pair of saves.
Coker returns to the pitch on Wednesday when they continue their six game road trip at Erskine College at 5 p.m. This will be the first Conference Carolinas match of the season.
