HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Jackie DeNova has been named the assistant coach for the Coker College women’s soccer program, head coach Dan Muns announced Wednesday.

DeNova joins Muns as he begins his first season leading the Cobra women. He was named the seventh coach in school history in December.

“I am very excited to have Jackie joining me as my assistant coach,” said Muns. “An exceptional collegiate goalkeeper, she is going to be a great role model for our players both on and off the field.’’

A two-time All-American at William Carey University in Mississippi, DeNova had an impressive playing career that included being named to the Nissan All-Region Team and the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) All-Conference Team. She was also named SSAC Defensive Player of the Year and Divisional Player of the Year, in addition to receiving Conference Player of the Week honors multiple times, as well as National Player of the Week.

In addition to her stellar playing career, DeNova has a wealth of coaching experience. She is a member of the Last Defense Goalkeeping Camp staff, has served as a staff member for the Columbus State University Soccer Camps for the last five years and has experience training goalkeepers throughout the region. She holds a USSF National Coaching License.

“First and foremost Jackie is a terrific coach and she will immediately make us better in all areas of the game,” added Muns.

A native of Washington state, she graduated from William Carey in May 2011.
