HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Three second half goals by Queens University of Charlotte gave the Royals a commanding lead, as they defeated the Coker women’s soccer team 4-0 in Conference Carolinas soccer action on Saturday afternoon.

Coker and Queens looked as if they would complete the first half with a scoreless frame, but a goal by Sarah Johnson in the 43rd minute gave the Royals a 1-0 lead heading into the half.

In the second half, a pair of goals by Kristen Wright gave the Royals the 3-0 lead, with Hope Hartman added the fourth and final goal in the 57th minute.

Anna Decker, Sami Striano and Kelesy Howard each had an assist for Queens in the match.

Coker goalkeeper Carrie Hudnell (Goose Creek, S.C.) recorded eight saves in the match, with Sarah Kinsey (Windermere, Fla.) leading the Lady Cobras with two shots.

Coker returns to action on Tuesday, September 21 at 7:00 p.m. in a non-conference game against Columbia College at the Coker College Soccer Field.
