SALISBURY, NC -- Sophomore Ashley Huhn (Ft. Worth, TX/Aledo HS/W. Carolina) scored four goals, three in the opening 10 minutes, as Catawba rolled to a 9-0 win over visiting Coker in women’s soccer action on Tuesday night at Frock Field. The match was played in a steady rain with the Catawba Indians improving to 11-4-2 overall with the win. The Cobras fall to 0-16.

Huhn struck in the fourth, sixth and 10th minutes as Catawba jumped out to a 4-0 edge. Stephanie Borland (Hagerstown, MD/N. Hagerstown HS), who scored in the ninth minute, had assisted on the second goal. Andrea Dunshie (Apex, NC/SE Raliegh HS) and Erinn Wescoat (Egg Harbor, NJ/Absegami HS) closed out the first half scoring to give the Lady Indians a 6-0 lead at the break.

Maria Borland (Hagerstown, MD/N. Hagerstown HS) started the second half scoring after offering two assists in the first half. Huhn got her fourth in the 60th minute and Amanda Beck (Thomasville, NC/E. Davidson HS) closed out the scoring, three minutes before time.

Eleven Lady Indians took part in the scoring. Katie Gair (Milton, Ontario, CANADA), Kristen Girardi (Asheville, NC/N. Buncombe HS/W. Carolina), Tasha Wilhelm (Mt. Savage, MD/Beall HS), Alyssa Retundie (Mooresville, NC/Mooresville HS), Marissa DiMarco (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern HS) and Courtney Petrone (Hampden, MA/Wilbraham Monson Academy) all had assists.

Catawba held a 34-1 edge in shots. Carrie Hudnell (Goose Creek, SC) made three saves for Coker in the first half, while Margaret McCoy (Columbia, SC) had seven stops in the second half. Lindsay Webster (Hopkinton, MA/Hopkinton HS) stopped the lone Coker shot and recorded her fourth shutout on the season.
