Hartsville, S.C. – The Lady Cobras soccer team failed to pick up a win in their 2009 Homecoming match as they fell to Southern Wesleyan University Warriors 4-0 on Saturday afternoon in a non-conference match. The loss drops Coker 0-10 on the season, while Southern Wesleyan improves to 7-1-1.

The Warriors first goal of the match came at the 24 minute mark when Meghan Bullock assisted Amanda Almond on the strike. The score remained 1-0 through the half, but the Warriors came out guns blazing in the second half.

In a span of just three minutes Southern Wesleyan tallied three goals; the first came from Rosy Escobar with an assist from Katie Sullivan, the second was a goal from Sullivan with an assist from Caitlin Blake and the third was an unassisted goal from Meghan Bullock.

Coker’s Carrie Hudnell (Goose Creek, S.C.) had eight saves on the day, while Sierra Threatt had four saves for the Warriors.

Coker returns to the field for their next match on Tuesday, Oct. 6 when they travel to Gaffney, S.C. to face Limestone College in a Conference Carolinas match at 2:00 p.m.
