Hartsville, S.C. – A pair of hat tricks led the Lees-McRae’s women’s soccer team to a 6-1 win over the Coker Lady Cobras in Conference Carolinas women’s soccer action Saturday afternoon. The loss drops Coker to 0-8 overall and 0-4 in the conference, while the Bobcats improve to 5-3 overall and 3-0 in the conference.

Vickie Rich (Buffalo Grove, Ill.) earned the Bobcats first hat trick of the match, as she netted all three goals in the first half of play, scoring the first three goals of the game. Aerial Gregston (Atwater, Ca.) got the second hat trick with two goals in the first half and one in the second. Gregston also had two assists on the day, while Shaina Ormsby (Raleigh, N.C.) and Alleshia Fisher (Lenoir, N.C.) each had an assist as well.

Coker’s lone goal came in the 41st minute when Bridget Clark (Irmo, S.C.) blasted a shot from just outside the 18 yard box past the diving keeper.

Even with the score 5-1 at halftime, the Lady Cobras fought hard in the second half and goalkeeper Carrie Hudnell (Goose Creek, S.C.) allowed just one goal on five saves.

Lees-McRae keeper Brittany Bolton (Roanoke, Va.) had six saves on the day.

Up next for the Lady Cobras is another conference match, this time they will travel to Charlotte, N.C. to face Queens University on Wednesday, Sept. 30. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
