Hartsville, S.C. – The Lady Cobras soccer team was unable to pick up a win on Tuesday night as they fell to the visiting Pacers of USC-Aiken 8-1 in a non-conference match-up. The loss drops Coker to 0-4 to start the 2009 season, while the Pacers improve to 2-3.

Aiken’s Jenny Pineriro (Ladson, S.C.) had a hat trick and an assist to lead the way for the Pacers, while Carly Minx (Greensboro, N.C.) had a pair of goals and an assist. Also netting goals for Aiken were Jennifer Goodwin (Walterboro, S.C.) and Diana Eaton (York, S.C.), who each dished out an assists as well. Katie Rumble (Aiken, S.C.) had a single goal and Alie Brady (Charleston, S.C.) had two assists and Brittany Paletar (Bel Air, Md.) had a single assists.

Scoring Coker’s lone goal was freshman Jill Giguere (Myrtle Beach, S.C.), while Coker goalkeeper Margaret McCoy (Columbia, S.C.) had 12 saves in the match.

Coker returns to the pitch on Thursday, when they host Mount Olive College in their first Conference Carolinas match of the season. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
