Hartsville, S.C. – The Barton Bulldogs handed the Coker Lady Cobras soccer team their 11th straight loss and their 11th shutout of the season, with a 3-0 win on Saturday afternoon. The loss drops Coker to 3-15 on the season and 2-9 in the conference, while Barton improves to 8-7-2 overall and 7-3-1 in the conference.

The Bulldogs wasted no time getting the scoring starting as Azlynn Aycock stolen an attempted clear and put it in the back of the net in the fourth minute of the match. Just seven minutes later, Eboni Nichols found her way through the defense with a pass from Hilary Peterson, putting Barton up 2-0. The Coker defense was able to keep the Bulldogs off balance through the rest of the first half and into the second half.

In the 50th minute Barton added their third and final goal, as Dillon Sauls blasted a direct kick from just outside the penalty area past Coker keeper, Chelsea Beetch (Palmer, AK).

Beetch had five saves in the match and in their final match as Coker Cobras, Kathryn Friedmann (Hendersonville, TN), Ashley Garven (Lilburn, GA) and Laura Bedenbaugh (Hartsville, SC) were each able to get a shot off, with Friedmann firing four total.

Coker finishes their first season under Head Coach Bethany Grass, with a bright future ahead, as the Lady Cobras will return all but their three seniors for the 2009 season.
