BANNER ELK, N.C. -- Chelsea Beetch had 11 saves in goal for the Coker College and Kathryn Friedmann scored two goals to give he Lady Cobras to  2-0 shutout win over the Lees-McRae Lady Bobcats in a Conference Carolinas match at Tate  Field Saturday.

The Lady Cobras scored 36 seconds into the match when Friedmann picked up a loose ball and beat the Lady Bobcat keeper to the near post to make it 1-0.

The Lady Cobras added an insurance goal in the 50th minute when Friedmann got a through pass from Jessica Ingle and beat the keeper to give the game the final score of 2-0.

Beetch faced 23 shots and made 11 saves to shutout the Bobcats.

The Lady Bobcats out shot the Lady Cobras 23-13.  The Lady Bobcats had 13 shots on goal compared to 5 Lady Cobra shots on goal.

With the loss, the Lady Bobcats fall to 6-1 overall and 2-1 in the conference, and the Lady Cobras improve to 2-3 overall and 1-1 in the conference.

The Lady Bobcats next match is Tuesday, September 23rd at 5 p.m. against Pikeville College in a non-conference match., while Coker will face South Carolina State in a non-conference match also on Tuesday.
