Hartsville, SC- Coker College is pleased to announce the hiring of Bethany Grass as the new Head Coach of the Cobra Women’s Soccer Team. Grass takes the helm of the Cobras in her first head coaching position, after spending five seasons as the assistant coach at Concordia University Wisconsin.

Grass is a graduate of Concordia University Wisconsin, where she received a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice and Health Science in 2000.  She was a four-year letter winner for Concordia and helped lead the Falcons to a conference championship in 1997. Bethany has coached on both the high school and club levels, as well as in college, serving as a head club coach and an assistant high school coach.

"I am very much looking forward to working with the Coker Women's Soccer Team and Athletics Staff,” said Grass. “I want to serve as a role model for young women to achieve overall year round fitness.  Today's job market is both competitive and team oriented and athletics help young women to perform optimally academically and physically."

Coker Director of Athletics, Tim Griggs, said, “Coach Grass possesses good knowledge of the game of soccer and will be a very good role model for our student-athletes.  We are very pleased to have her join the Coker coaching staff. As an assistant coach of a NCAA Division III school for five years, Coach Grass has prepared herself for a head coaching position.”
