WILSON, NC – Senior forwards Allie Wilkerson and Tara Davis tallied two goals apiece and senior Jessica Corsey added two assists Wednesday night as the Barton College women’s soccer team tallied a 4-1 conquest of Conference Carolinas foe Coker.

Wilkerson scored off a pass from sophomore Dillon Sauls in the 15th minute, but Coker countered with a breakaway goal by Katie Holliday just two minutes later.

It was not until midway of the second half that Barton took control, getting goals from Davis at 51:29, Wilkerson at 60:41 and Davis at 76:58. Rachel Lawson assisted Wilkerson’s second goal.

Barton, amid a six-team battle for third place with three weeks left in the regular season, rose to 4-5-4 overall and 4-2-2 in the league. Coker slipped to 4-8-1 overall and 1-7-1 in the conference. Barton entertains last place Converse Saturday night at 7.

The four goals was Barton’s second-highest offensive output of the season.

The Lady Bulldogs outshot Coker 15-3 and missed a penalty kick early in the second half. Ashley Gregory notched two goalie saves for the victors while Margaret McCoy claimed 11 saves for the Cobras.
