LAURINBURG, N.C.—The St. Andrews Presbyterian College women’s soccer team played its third scoreless double-overtime Conference Carolinas match this season, this time battling visiting Coker College to the 0-0 tie on Wednesday afternoon.

The Lady Knights, who have also played 110-minutes of scoreless soccer at home against Barton College and Limestone College, maintain a 3-5-3 overall record and 1-2-3 mark in the conference. The Lady Cobras, who now hold a 3-7-1 overall and 1-6-1 league ledger, posted their first draw of the season.

Junior goalkeeper Garrison Burton (Atlanta, Ga.) and the Knights defense -- that features a starting defensive line of freshman Becky Brandenburg (Swansboro, N.C.), junior Brittany Forrest (Lexington, N.C.), and seniors Kellie Milam (Emporia, Kan.) and Jamie Gomez (Saugus, Calif.) -- has recorded their third straight shutout and fifth in their last six games.

Coker had the better scoring opportunities in the first half but all six of their shots in the opening stanza just missed wide or high by no more than five feet each. Cobra sophomore Bridget Clark (Irmo, S.C.) had three of her team-high five shots in the first 45 minutes.

St. Andrews bounced back and dominated the second half out shooting the visitors 9-3. Junior Kerrie Brown led the Knights with a game-high six shots including a late blast that went off the goalpost. Senior Crystal Olu-Taylor (Raleigh, N.C.), junior Myra Miller (Atlanta, Ga.), and freshman Sam Frazer (Goldsboro, N.C.) all put multiple shots on frame for SAPC.

Coker freshman goalkeeper Margaret McCoy (Columbia, S.C.) kept the Knights off the scoreboard by making 11 saves. Burton only needed one save to earn her fifth shutout of the season for St. Andrews.

The Knights ended the game leading in shots, 18-10, and corner kicks, 9-3.
