Spartanburg, SC- The Lady Cobras Soccer Team got their Conference Carolinas play under way with a 3-0 victory over the Converse All-Stars on Saturday. The win improves Coker’s record to 3-1 overall, and 1-0 in the conference.

Coker’s first goal came off a direct kick from Amanda McPhail/Irmo, SC,, her first of the year. The Cobras next two goals came thanks to the combination of Kathryn Friedmann/Hendersonville, TN, and Laura Bedenbaugh/Hartsville, SC. Their first goal came when Bedenbaugh gave Friedmann a pass at the top of the six yard box and Friedmann buried it in the back of the net. Then their second goal came from another Bedenbaugh pass, but this time Friedmann put away a header, giving the Cobras a comfortable 3-0 lead and the eventual win.

The Cobras return to the field on Tuesday, September 11, as they host Mount Olive College at 5:00 p.m. at the Coker Soccer Field.
