Misenheimer, NC- Pfeiffer dominated Coker College in women's soccer action Wednesday afternoon winning 6-0.  The Falcons(13-3,8-1) outshot the

Cobras(3-10,1-7) 23-4 for the game and led 5-0 at the half.  Megan Blevins scored a hat trick and assisted on another goal to lead the Falcons.

 

Pfeiffer had total control in the first half.  Coker played strong defense but the Falcons had an overwhelming advantage in time of possession.  It wasn't until the 20th minute that Pfeiffer could get on the scoreboard.

Megan Blevins scooped up a rebound off a Maria Reis shot and calmly put the ball into the open net.

 

Ashley Hawkins opened the floodgates in the 38th minute with her goal.  A Blevins pass set up Hawkins as she got in behind the defense and beat the goalie with a shot into the far side netting to give Pfeiffer a 2-0 lead.

 

Three minutes later Blevins scored the Falcons third goal when she beat the goalie with a shot from 12 yards following off a nice pass from Katrina Salem.  A minute later Salem scored a beautiful goal and she dribbled around two defenders then put the ball past the goalie from 18 yards out.

 

Blevins got her hat trick two minutes later when she took a cross from Hawkins and scored from six yards out.  The Falcons led 5-0 at the break.

 

Coker played hard the second half but the Falcons still controlled the action.  In the 58th minute Kirsten Bartsch scored when she volleyed home an Ashley Bowman cross to give the Falcons a 6-0 lead.

 

Suzie Hinman and Mary Kathryn Mason each played a half to combine for the shutout.

 

Pfeiffer returns to action Saturday when they travel to Barton for a 1:00 pm game, while Coker travels to Belmont Abbey on Saturday as well.
