Wingate, NC- In their first contest of the 2006 season the Coker Women’s Soccer Team fell to the Wingate Bulldogs 5-0. The loss marked the first test for the Cobras under new head coach, Tim Wolz. “Even though we lost I feel we played a good game,” said Wolz. “The girls are still getting used to the new system and I know that we all learned a great deal from tonight’s game.”

 

The Bulldogs out shot the Cobras 33-2, with senior Megan Shaver (Athens, TN) and freshman Bridget Clark (Columbia, SC) each recording a shot for Coker. Freshman goalkeeper Krista Coleman (Columbia, SC) recorded 15 saves for the Cobras.

 

The Cobras (0-1) will get their chance to get back to .500 when they travel to UNC-Pembroke on Tuesday, August 29, at 5:00 p.m.
