Hartsville, SC- Coker College announced the signing of two players to National Letters of Intent to play women’s soccer in the fall of 2006. Krista Coleman and Bridget Clark will each suit up in navy and gold for the Cobras in the coming season.

 

Coleman, a Lexington, SC, native, will play both soccer and basketball for Coker, two sports she excelled at while attending Brookland-Cayce High School. She is a 6’1” post player on the court and goalkeeper on the field. She is a four year letter winner in soccer and two year letter winner in basketball, along with being the varsity basketball team captain.

 

In basketball, she was a two-time selection to the Outback Steakhouse Invitational All-Tournament Team and she averaged eight points and 6.5 rebounds a game. In soccer, she was MVP of the 2005 State Championship Game, a Lady Bearcat Invitational All-Tournament Team selection and All-Area Team selection. She had 41 starts in goal with 30 shut-outs and 0.75 goals against average.

 

According to Coleman, “I Chose Coker because it offered what I was looking for in an education, in a small setting close to home. It also gave me the opportunity to play both basketball and soccer at the next level.”

 

Clark is from Irmo, SC, where she attended Dutch Fork High School and was a four-time letter winner in soccer. She led the Silver Foxes in goals two years in a row, scoring 17 goals and 11 assists during her senior season. She was named to the North/South All-Star team and All-Region Team in 2006. When asked about attending Coker Bridget said, “Coker is the best college for me. I love the small environment, and I can’t wait for soccer season to start.”
