Hartsville, SC- In their final home games of the season, both Coker Soccer teams were shutout against Pfeiffer University. The women lost 8-0 and the men lost 4-0. The women drop to 6-10 on the year and 3-7 in the CVAC, while the men are now 2-12 overall, and 0-8 in the CVAC.

 

In the women’s game Pfeiffer came out strong and scored three goals in the first half, one by Laura Crews, one by Ashley Bowman and one by Coral Norbech. Crews also got an assist in the first half on Bowman’s goal.

 

In the second half Ashley Bowman exploded with three goals, two unassisted and the other assisted by Amber Wingerson. Norbech added her second goal, with another assist from Crews and Crews added to her night with her second goal and the eighth for the Falcons to finish the game.  Coker was out shot 26 to four in the game, while keeper Jamie Swift/Marietta, GA, had six saves for the Cobras.

 

The games tonight marked the final home games for six Coker Senior Soccer Players. On the women’s team Jacque Stewart was the lone senior, while on the men’s side Jeremy Andrews, Scott Simmons, Cameron Farris, Brent Washburn and Aaron Osteen all played their final game on the Coker Soccer Field.

 

The final regular season games for the Cobras comes as they travel to Limestone College on Saturday, October 29, with the women starting at 1 p.m. followed by the men’s game at 3 p.m.
