Coker Comes Up Short in Season Finale at Home vs. Allen

The Coker University Wrestling team wrapped up their season in a close match at home vs. Allen on Thursday. The Cobra's would celebrate senior night as they honored William Frazier, Trey Weinell, Hamilton Cooper, and Noah Korenoski.

125lbs

The night opened up at 125lbs mark as Corey Gallivan of Coker took on Recon Robinson of Allen. Gallivan would score the first points of the night with a tech fall victory making the score 5-0. Gallivan would improve his personal record to 4-1 on the season.

133lbs

Weston Bare would get the call at 133lbs facing Trent Bowser, and Bare would score a decision victory earning three points for the Cobras, bringing the Cobra lead up to 8-0. Bare would push his personal record on the season to 8-12.

141lbs

At 141lbs Coker would send out Omar Armengol to face Mikade Harvey. Armengol would score another four points for the Cobras pushing the Cobra lead up to 12-0 after just three matches. Armengol would improve his season record on the season to 17-4.

149lbs

Coker would go on to send out Trey Weinell to face Drevon Wallace at the 149lb mark. Wallace would score a fall over Weinell at 2:02. Bringing the score to 12-6 Cobras

157lbs

157lbs saw an absolute battle between Noah Korenoski of Coker and Dharrin Smith of Allen. Three rounds was not enough between the two as the match would go into overtime. Wallace would get the sudden victory over Korenoski in a back and forth match up, making the score 12-9 in favor of Coker.

165lbs

At 165lbs, Obed Don brought the crowd to their feet, scoring a fall at the 4:18 mark over Allen's Ya'Donnis Hardaway. bringing the Cobra lead up to 18-9. Don would pick up his fifth win on the season.

174lbs

Alexander Dorce would score a technical fall over Benjamin Newton in the first round of the 174lb contest, bringing the score to 18-14 with Coker maintaining their lead.

184lbs

184lbs saw Michael Jackson of Allen score a fall victory over Coker's Duffy Mista at the 2:23 mark.

Heavyweight (285lbs)

Hamilton Cooper would finish the night for the Cobras with a major decision victory over Allen's Chandler Allen. Cooper would improve to 9-7 on the season after his victory. Cooper's victory would earn four points on the scoreboard for the Cobras.
