Cobras Fall to Tornado

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker University wrestling team dropped their regular season finale on Monday (Feb. 14) to King University (Tenn.) by a score of 25-12.

#16 Corey Christie got the victory by a 5-0 decision over David Varner at 165 pounds to give the Cobras the early lead. Hamilton Cooper earned the win by fall over King's Jeremiah Good at 285 pounds, as he pinned Good at the 2:40 mark. Freshman Corey Gallivan won an exciting match at 125 pounds as he came from behind and won the 7-6 decision with a takedown as the clock expired to defeat King's Rylee Billings.

This match concludes the regular season for the Cobras. Qualifying Cobras will be back in action Saturday (Feb. 26) at the Super Region II Tournament in Pembroke, N.C.. Coverage can be found at www.cokercobras.com
