Nine Cobras Selected in Regional Rankings

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker University wrestling team received recognition in the most recent Super Region II rankings announced today (Jan. 21).

The Cobras are ranked second as a team, tying the highest regional team rank in program history. Nine different Cobras are ranked in the top six of their weight class within the region.

Levi Kluttz (197 pounds), Steven Spitko, (125 pounds), and Hamilton Cooper (285 pounds) were all ranked in the sixth spot within their respective weight classes. 

Omar Armengol (141 pounds), Patrick Wunderlich (157 pounds), and Kaleb Walley (184 pounds) all checked in at the fourth spot of their classes.

Zach Van Alst (149 pounds) is ranked second in his weight class. Hunter Ross (133 pounds) and Corey Christie (165 pounds) both got the nod as the top ranked competitors in their weight class for Super Region II.

The Cobras will be back in action this Saturday (Jan. 22) when they host Lander at 4 p.m. and Queens (N.C.) at 6 p.m.. Live video and stats can be found at www.cokercobras.com
