Wrestling Sweeps Allen Duals in Convincing Fashion on Saturday

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Coker University wrestling team picked up two convincing wins at the Allen University duals on Saturday (Nov. 20), defeating Allen 46-3, and St. Andrews 47-3.

Corey Gallivan began the match against Allen with a tiebreaker win against Reco Robinson at 125 pounds, before Hunter Ross put Coker ahead 6-0 with a 9-4 decision over Nyshaad Hannon at 133 pounds. Omar Armengol would then put up the first bonus-point victory for Coker in the match at 141 pounds, defeating Drevon Wallace 13-4. Zachary Van Alst would post a win by fall in just 48 seconds over Ya'Donnis Hardaway at 149 pounds, before P.J. Wunderlich would post a win by fall in 4:16 over James Dagin at 157 pounds. Corey Christie would make it three pins in a row for Coker at 165 pounds with a win by fall in 2:28 over Moise Toussaint, before Alex Miller would continue the run with a win by fall in 6:05 at 174 pounds over Terrence Mills. Kaleb Walley would post yet another win by fall at 184 pounds, pinning Christian Poplous in 2:05. Hamilton Cooper would pick up Coker's final win in the dual by accepting a forfeit at 285 pounds.

Stephen Spitko got the match against St. Andrews started with a win by fall in just 40 seconds over Christian Matthews at 125 pounds, before Arty Walsh pinned Gerard Ricciutto in 1:03 at 133 pounds. The Cobras would pick up two more wins by fall to start the match as Armengol would pin Terry Adams in 2:31 at 141 pounds and Van Alst would pin Jacob Arnold in 1:03 at 149 pounds. Bryan Jones accepted a forfeit at 157 pounds, before Christie defeated Tyler Godfrey by tech fall 16-1. Miller would pick up his second win of the day with a win by fall in 1:46 over Akazee Kum Akab a sei at 174, before William Frazier defeated Ty'quez Stuckey by decision 4-3 at 184. Cooper would pick up Coker's final win of the day with a 4-0 win over Kevin Mood at 285 pounds.
