NEWBERRY, S.C. - The Coker University wrestling team fell to No. 13 Newberry in South Atlantic Conference Carolinas action Tuesday night (Feb. 11) by a score of 26-18.

No. 13 Newberry began the night with a win by fall at 125 pounds, before Chris Poland got the Cobras on the board with a 6-3 victory at 133 pounds over Austin Neal. Newberry would take the next three bouts by two major decisions and one decision to take a 17-3 lead in the match. Corey Christie would win by fall in 2:34 over Nestor Nunez to get the Cobras back in the match at 17-9. Newberry would pick up a win by forfeit at 174 pounds, before extending their lead with a win by decision at 184 pounds. Corey Perkins-Willett was bumped up to 197 pounds, where he pinned Marcus Bisono in 3:52. No. 5/11/11 Ramon Correa closed the night out with a 10-5 win by decision over Nick Weldon

The Cobras (7-4, 3-3 South Atlantic Conference Carolinas) return to the mat on Sunday (Feb. 16) at the DeLoach Center to host Emmanuel (Ga.) in South Atlantic Conference Carolinas action. The action begins at 2:00 p.m., with video available at www.cokercobras.com.
