Wrestling Drops Tough Conference Contest to No. 14/20 Limestone Thursday Night

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker University wrestling team dropped a tough South Atlantic Conference Carolinas tilt to No. 14/20 Limestone on Thursday night (Jan. 23) by a score of 24-12.

Limestone took a 3-0 lead with a victory at 125 pounds, before Chris Poland evened the match with a 9-2 decision over No. 11 and No. 1 in the region Majid Corbett at 133 pounds. Limestone would go ahead 10-3 with victories at 141 pounds and 149 pounds, before defending South Atlantic Conference Carolinas Wrestler of the Week Ryan Camp gutted out a 2-1 decision over Avery Dinardi at 157 pounds. Limestone would extend its lead further with bonus-point victories at 165 pounds and 174 pounds, before Corey Perkins-Willett posted an 11-6 win by decision over Kyle Daley at 184 pounds. Limestone earned another bonus-point victory at 197 pounds, before No. 6/11/11 Ramon Correa closed out the match with a 4-1 decision over No. 5 in the region Jervey Sistrunk.

The Cobras (5-2, 1-1 SACC) are back in action on Monday (Jan. 27) when they travel to Queens (N.C.) for another South Atlantic Conference Carolinas contest. The action begins at 7:00 p.m., with video available at www.cokercobras.com.
