Cobras Fall to No. 18 Wolves
The Coker wrestling team dropped its ECAC match to No. 18 Newberry 25-15 on Saturday (Jan. 2).
NEWBERRY, S.C. – The Coker Cobra wrestling team dropped its Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) match to the nationally ranked No. 18 Newberry Wolves 25-15 on Saturday (Jan. 2).
Derrick Nelson continued his dominance on the mat with his seventh pin of the season at 133-pounds. Jordon Tague had a solid12-7 decision at 149-pounds, and Shabo Gorial picked up an 8-2 decision at the 157-pound weight class. Derrick Booth earned a 3-1 decision at the 174-pound division to round out the Coker victories.
The Cobras will return to action on Friday (Jan. 8) when they host the Coker Duals beginning at 10 a.m. at Coker's DeLoach Center.
