
Coker Finishes 17th, Records Three Placers at Midwest Classic
Charlie Huff, Derrick Nelson and Jordon Tague all placed within their weight class for Coker.
INDIANAPOLIS, IN- The Coker wrestling team wrapped up a 17th-place finish including three individual placers at the 2015 Midwest Classic this weekend (Dec. 19-20).
Charlie Huff (125, 7th), Derrick Nelson (133, 8th) and Jordon Tague (149, 6th) were the Cobras who placed within their weight classes.
Huff posted a 5-2 mark overall including three overtime wins. The third came in the seventh place match when Huff defeated King's Reed Jacks 4-2.
Derrick Nelson posted a 3-3 overall mark which included two wins by major decision.
Jordon Tague also finished the weekend with a 3-3 overall record. The freshman won his first two matches by fall, the first in just 1:18 and the second in 1:56. His third win came in the form of a 9-2 decision over Upper Iowa's Damian Penichet.
The Cobras will take to the mat after the holiday when they travel to Newberry for a dual match on Jan. 2. The action begins at 2:00 p.m.
