
Wrestling to Travel to King Open Sunday
The Cobras will put 18 attached wrestlers in the tournament.
HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Coker wrestling team will travel to Bristol, Tenn. for the King Open on Sunday (Nov. 22). This will be the team's first competition since the 33-9 dual win over St. Andrews at Coker's first ever "Art Meets Art" event on Nov. 11.
Highlighted in the win were major decisions from Charlie Huff (13-4, 125), RaSean McArthur (15-6, 141) and the match closed out with a gritty 17-4 major win from Austin Akins at 285 pounds.
Coker also earned two wins by fall in the victory. Derrick Nelson zipped his way to a first period pin at the 1:53 mark. Derrick Booth caught his second wave when he pinned his opponent just 17 seconds into the third period.
Coker last travelled to Bristol during the 2013-14 season, beating Ohio Valley 27-13 and falling to King 24-21. Last year, the Cobras took on King at the Coker Duals and won 42-3.
The tournament begins at 8:00 a.m.
