HOW IT HAPPENED:
- 1st Period
- The First Period was back and forth as Coker and Catawba went goal for goal
- The Cobra's biggest lead in the period was 3 goals in the 8th minute of play.
- Leah Corely struck first for the Cobras after a Free Position Shot in the 2 minute of the game to tie the game up at 1-1.
- Then in the 5th minute of play, Mia MacMillan scored her first goal of the game with a solo goal to bring the game tied up at 2 a piece.
- Just over two minutes later the Cobras took the lead with a solo goal from Kate Halcro who was given the ball by Amanda Argullo in open space to run at her defender. Halcro pasted her defender with ease before slotting the ball in to the far side of the goal.
- MacMillan scored once again just under 8 minutes into the game. After a save from Olivia Schmidt the Cobras were on a fast break down field when Kaiya Sabur spotted MacMillan in open space. MacMillan took no time at all to collect the ball before slotting the ball into the far post for her second goal of the game.
- At the end of the first period the Cobras were trailing 6-4.
- 2nd Period
- To start the second period of play Catawba scored their 7th goal shortly after play resumed.
- Just over a minute of play later Kate Halcro got her second goal of the game off of a Mia MacMillan assist. MacMillan got the ball in an open field after a foul for Catawba, she then spotted Halcro make a diagonal run across the cage when MacMillan sent the ball into Halcro's run where she finished off the pass with ease into the bottom corner of the net.
- MacMillan scored only a minute later after finding herself in acres of space. MacMillan sent a scorcher of a long-distance effort into the top left corner of the goal to bring the Cobras with 1 of the Catawba Indians.
- Catawba turned up the heat on offense as they scored 3 more goals over the next 5 minutes of play.
- Kate Halcro completed her hat trick with just under 4 minutes left to play in the period after a solo goal that she buried into the bottom left corner of the net after taking on not just 1,2, or 3 defenders BUT FOUR!
- At the end of the 2nd period, the Cobras trailed 11-7.
- 3rd Period
- Kate Halcro scored the only goal for the Cobras in this period off of a Kaiya Sabur assist. Sabur sent a pass over the cage to Halcro who fumbled the ball immediately after the pass. Only to recover the dropped ball, Halcro then shot the ball over the Catawba's goalkeeper to score her fourth goal of the contest.
- At the end of the 3rd period, the Cobras were trailing 15-8
- 4th Period
- After assisting Halcro in the last goal Kaiya Sabur scored her first goal of the contest with a little over 4 minutes left to play. After Sabur was fouled she was given the ball right behind the cage. Sabur went on to run past two defenders before calmly sending the ball between the Catawba Keeper's legs to score her first goal of the contest.
- Following Sabur's goal, Coker raised the pressure on offense for the next two minutes. This pressure gave Verena Turnwald the ball in a golden opportunity. Turnwald ran the ball across the field before sneaking around the cage and scoring her first goal of the game with a shot over the keeper's head to bring the score to 10-18.
- The 4th period and the game ended with a final score of 19-10 in favor of the Catawba Indians.
