MacMillian and Richardson are chosen as the ones to watch this year
The Junior and Freshmen are the ones to look for on the field this year.
Hartsville, SC: With the lacrosse season coming up soon, you need to be on the lookout for a few people. The First of these individuals is Mia Macmillian a junior from Fort Mill, SC. The other girl to look out for this year is the Freshman for Surrey, Canada Veronica Richardson.
Mia MacMillian- Jr.- Attack- #9
Mia MacMillian is the Captain of the Coker Lacrosse team and the first girl nominated as a player to watch by her coach Jeff Faulkner. Mia has had one season of play under her belt while she has been at Coker. In this season MacMillian put together great performances. Over her season MacMillian had 12 appearances and 12 starts. Over the 12 games she played, she had 5 goals and 4 assists. Her most important stat over this season has to be her 52.9% shot on-goal percentage that she racked up. Coach Faulkner had this to say about his captain. "Her hard work and dedication to the program for the last few years will show through her dodging ability along with setting her teammates up to be a dual threat. She is a captain this season due to her leadership and ability to hold every one on the offense to a high standard to be effective and great. Mia is someone that we have high expectations for, and I have no doubt that she will be able to achieve them this season."
Veronica Richardson- Fr.- Defense- #25
Veronica Richardson was the other player chosen by Coach Faulkner. The freshman from Surrey, Canada has been held in high regard by her coaches and is expected to be a star for the cobras over the coming years. In high school, Richardson won Female Player of the Year twice over her time at Fleetwood Park Secondary. Coach Faulkner had this to say about his future star, " Veronica is a very hardworking, physical, lefty defender that continues to push herself and her teammates to be better. She shows up every day ready to work on the field and in the weight room. She brings a presence to the defense that helps to elevate those around her and is helping to establish a tough defensive mindset for our defense. She will be an anchor for our defense for the next four years."
