HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker women's lacrosse made history Wednesday night (Apr. 12), earning the program's first shutout in a 15-0 win over Point University.
Claudia Jenkins led the way offensively with a hat trick, while Marabeth Durden, Karah Huntsinger and Haley McCusker each scored twice. Katie Driskell, Skylar Stowers, Faith Kent, Bailey O'Brien Kaitlyn Kimball and Jesse Sternberg each scored once in the win. Kent also dished out a game-high seven assists. Defensively, Coker won the draw control battle 12-5, with Durden collecting five. Coker scooped up 20 ground balls, with Kent collecting a team-high four. McCusker caused five turnovers in the win, while Kimball added to her conference-leading total with three. Cassie Williams (11-3) made one save in the shutout.
Coker (11-3, 5-1 SAC) takes the field again on Saturday (Apr. 15) when they take on South Atlantic Conference top dog Queens on the road. Opening draw is slated for 1:00 p.m.
