Three Hat-tricks Lead Cobras to 15-3 win over Brevard
The Cobras from the women's lacrosse team scored hat-ricks in Coker's double-digit win at Brevard.
BREVARD, N.C. – The Coker women's lacrosse team landed a 15-3 South Atlantic Conference win over Brevard College on Wednesday (Apr. 9).
It was a quick offensive start that allowed the Cobras to record the double-digit win. Coker jumped out to a 10-1 lead in the first 30-minutes of action, with three of those goals coming from freshman midfielder Mackenzie Baker. The Navy and Yellow then expanded their lead with five more goals in the second half, pacing them to a 15-3 final score.
Along with Baker, Ashlyn Burgett and Millie Rogers each recorded three goals to lead the Coker offense. Marabeth Durden added two goals of her own along with a team leading five draw controls, while Hayley Ferone, Shannon Jessop, Cierra Davis, and Danielle Holcomb all tallied one goal apiece.
Coker will have little time to enjoy the victory however, as they prepare for another SAC competition on Friday (Apr. 11) at Newberry. Game time is set for a 6:00 p.m. start time.
