
Women's Golf Finishes Second At Newberry Invitational
Daniella Gyoni takes home first place.
Greensboro, GA. - Junior Daniella Gyoni continued her strong fall, as she took home first place, while the Cobras place second as a team at the Newberry Invitational. This is Gyoni's second career first place finish. She was accompanied by Haylie George who finished fourth overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Monday morning proved to be difficult for all teams as the conditions were filled with high winds and quick greens.
The Cobras were able to navigate around this in round one when they finished first overall through the first 18 holes. Gyoni and George were atop the leaderboard standing strong at one and two.
As day one wrapped up, the Cobras found themselves holding onto second place through 36 holes.
On Tuesday the Cobras continued to battle, as they held tight onto second place throughout the round.
At the days end, Coker edged Emory and Henry by one storke, earning second place overall for the tournament.
Daniella Gyoni continued to shine for the Cobras taking home first place individually. She posted a three day score of +18. Her three day scores proved to be the best by three strokes.
Haylie George, Gisele Morna, and Felicia Sundgren placed in the top 15 to help Coker hold onto their second place finish.
