Women’s Golf Compete at the Low Tide Intercollegiate
Coker looked to put a strong two rounds together day-1.
Mount Pleasant, SC- Coker headed to Dunes West Golf and River Club to compete against sixteen other universities on a tough course. The team wrapped up the day in 12th place and looked to finish strong in the second day of the tournament. The Cobras scored 629 as a team and look to go low in the final round.
Mack Taylor Bailey was the top finisher for the Cobras. Bailey finished the day tied for 37th place and shot 77 in both rounds today. Hailey George shot well today as she shot 80 in her first round and went into the second round looking to shoot lower as she put together a 77 of her on going into the final round tied for 50th. Kathleen Escobar shot 78 in her first and 80 in her second rounds. Daniella Gyon shot 79 in her first round and 81 in the afternoon round. Jenna Werle rounded it out for Coker as she shot 82 and 86.
Coach Hackney had some words about today's performance:
"Our women got off to a hot start today, rolling in 3 birdies on the first par 3, and we were hanging with some of the best teams in the country through 4 or 5 holes. We were still playing well midway through the round but then had some big numbers on the back 9 that cost us. I really thought this was gonna be the 1st time in school history that we were going to put five scores in the 70s but it just didn't happen. In the afternoon, it was just an average performance for our ladies, so we'll be looking to do something special tomorrow to hopefully climb up the leaderboard."

The Cobras will compete tomorrow in their final round of the invite.
