Women’s Golf Finishes up at The Battle at Hilton Head
The Coker Cobras completed the Battle at Hilton Head invitational and finished in the top-ten.
Hilton Head, SC- Coker secured another top-ten finished today.
Kathleen Escobar shot a great final round for the Cobras as she finished with a 71 on the day. Esobar finished her round with three birdies and 13 pars. Mack Bailey and Haylie George both finished nine over on the day.
Coach John Hackney had this to say about the last round:
"It was a fantastic day for Kathleen, whose 1-under 71 tied the 2nd lowest round in school history. Alicia Fajardo is still the all-time best at a 2-under 70 and Kathleen is now tied with teammate Mack Bailey at 1-under 70. Those are the only 3 rounds ever recorded under par in Coker women's golf history. As for the rest of the team, we got off to a rough start on a tough part of the golf course in very high winds. We did play a little bit better on the back 9 but it was too late. We posted 10 scores of double bogey or worse, which really hurt
Now, you just need to regroup and get ready for another tournament this coming week in Charleston. Everyone on the team has had flashes of brilliance. We just need to put it together at the same time."
