Women’s Golf Finishes Strong at the Spring Kick-Off Invite

St. Augustine, FL- The team came into the day in the top ten and finished 10th out of 17 teams. The Cobras ended the day +80 after three rounds.

The Coker golf team led by Mack Taylor Bailey looked to improve from the first day. Bailey went plus three over par for the day scoring a 75 for the day as well as four birdies. Kathleen Escobar finished right behind her with a score of 76 and two birders for the day. Daniella and Jenna Werle both had 78 through tough and hot 18 holes.

The coach had this to say about the invite "It was another solid outing for the Lady Cobras, there is no shame in finishing 10th among 17 schools, but our ladies wanted more. Currently, we are just lacking consistency. We have had some good individual, and team, rounds, but we have also had some poor rounds.

Mack and Kathleen led the way this week for us. Kathleen carded 79-75-77 (+15) with 34 pars and three birdies to finish 23rd and Mack came in at 76-81-75, hitting 11 fairways and 13 greens today to tie for 26th. Daniella contributed a nice first round of 74.

Overall, we made 23 birdies over three rounds, but we just had too many big numbers to be in contention.

We are making great progress. We just need to continue fine-tuning our short game and figure out how to eliminate big numbers."
