Cobras Snag 1st Place Finish at Converse Fall Invite

The Coker University Women's Golf Team finished in First Place to round out their Fall Season.

Coker turned in a team score of 316 for the second round of the tournament lead by Lora Ledbetter with a +3 score of 78. Ledbetter was followed by Kathleen Escobar and Jenna Werle who both individually turned in a score of 79 (+7) respectively.  Daniella Gyoni carded a 82 (+10), while Mack Taylor Bailey also recorded an 80 (+8) for the day.

"This is a tremendous day for Coker Golf! The ladies battled hard all day. It was nip and tuck for a while and we were close to the lead at the turn, but then we dropped some shots early in the back nine, which played extremely difficult and fell behind by six becasue we made four pars and a birdie on the eightennth hole to jump two teams and win championship! There were some clutch performances all the way around today and I could not be more proud of this accomplishment. A year ago, we were celebrating when we were something other than last place in the tournaments, so these young ladies have made a tremendous turnaround in less than a year" - Quote from Coach John Hackney

This great finish wraps up the fall season for the Cobras and we are expecting great things from them in the spring. Stats will be posted to www.cokercobras.com
