Women's Golf Second, Campbell First After Opening Round of the Coker Women's Invitational

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker College women's golf team opened up play at the Coker Women's Invitational on Monday (Mar. 18) as they ended the first day at Hartsville Country Club in second place. The Cobras fired a team score of 309 (+21) to put them just five shots back of Anderson for the lead. 

Alyssa Campbell came out firing as she tied her own record for the lowest round in Coker history after carding a 72 (E) to put her in a tie for the lead. Bella Harris was next up on the leaderboard in a tie for ninth-place after her 77 (+5) for the day. Alicia Fajardo and Kelli Smith both ended the day with an 80 (+8) in a tie for 23rd while Ana Orlov rounded out the day tied for 32nd with a day-one score of 82 (+10). Samantha Pearson fired an 81 (+9) to put her in a tie for 26th and Jordan White notched a 91 (+19) while playing as individuals.

The Cobras will hit the course for the final round on Tuesday (Mar. 19) with a shotgun start at 9:00 PM.
