Luna Charges Cobras to Third Place Finish at Cherokee Valley Women's Invitational
Luna fires a 159, finishes third individually for the tournament
TRAVELERS REST, S.C.- The Coker College women's golf team put in a solid effort at the Cherokee Valley Women's Invitational and finished tied-for-third with a team score of 667 on Tuesday, March 27 from Cherokee Valley. Senior Angela Luna led the charge for the Cobras capturing a third place individual finish.
Angela Luna signed off on rounds of 79 and 80 for a tournament total of 159. Luna's scores pushed her to a third place finish in individual play, her highest placement for the 2017-18 season.
Ana Orlov and Kelli Smith placed within one shot of each other with two-round scores of 167 and 168 respectively.
Margaret Mills and Taylor Mayers rounded out the Cherokee Valley Women's Invitational on Tuesday, March 27 with rounds of 84 and 88, collecting tournament scores of 173 and 180.
Coker's next tournament will be held at the Members Club at Woodcreek Farms in Columbia, S.C., for the South Atlantic Conference Championships. The tournament will take place April 15-15. Results from the event can be found by visiting www.cokercobras.com.
