
Women's Golf Finishes Eighth at Wingate Lady Bulldog Intercollegiate
Smith and Luna place inside the top-20 at Rolling Hills
MONROE, N.C.- The Coker College women's golf team rounded out play at the Wingate Lady Bulldog Intercollegiate on Tuesday, March 20 at Rolling Hills Country Club in Monroe, N.C. The Navy and Gold finished eighth overall with a team score of 649 for the tournament.
Kelli Smith took the charge for the Cobras firing rounds of 82 and 74 to finish 17th overall in individual play. Angela Luna found herself two shots back of Smith, signing off on rounds of 83 and 75, for a two-day total of 158. Luna finished tied for 20th individually overall.
Taylor Mayers and Samantha Pearson both shot first round scores of 82, while Meyers finished one stroke better than Pearson with two-day totals of 167 and 168 respectively.
Ana Orlov rounded out play with scores of 86 and 87.
The Navy and Gold's next tournament will be at the Cherokee Valley Invitational from Travelers Rest, S.C., Monday and Tuesday, March 25-26. Results from the round can be found by visiting www.cokercobras.com.
