
Cobras Sit in Second After Day One of Coker Women's Invitational
The Coker College women's golf team shot a team score of 330 on day one of the Coker Women's Invitational.
HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College women's golf team is in second place after day one of the Coker Women's Invitational. The Cobras shot a team score of 337.
Rain, wind and temperatures around 40 degrees met the field of 38 players on Monday morning, forcing tough scoring conditions. At the end of round one, only one player broke 80 and the field's scoring average was 88.50.
Angela Luna led the way for the Cobras on day one, shooting a round of 82. Luna sits in a tie for fourth on the individual scoreboard. Bella Harris and Taylor Mayers signed off on rounds of 84, leaving them both in a tie for seventh. Kelli Smith is in a tie for 17th after an opening round of 87, while Amber Winburn is in a tie for 21st after a round of 88. Ana Orlov and Taylor Gaskins are playing as individuals for the Navy and Gold. Orlov is in a tie for seventh after a round of 84, while Gaskins carded a round of 91 and is in 27th position.
Shorter University is atop the team leaderboard. The Hawks finished with a team score of 330. Paula Oviedo of Shorter is the individual overnight leader, shooting a round of 77.
The final round (Mar. 14) will be a 10 a.m. shotgun start at Hartsville Country Club. Coker will tee off on holes 1-5 with Orlov and Gaskins teeing off hole 18.
